GRICEL - A TANGO STORY Preview

“Gricel – A Tango Story” is an innovative musical theater production that tells the true, iconic love story of tango poet José María Contursi, immersing the audience in the bittersweet world of unfulfilled longing, inherent in the culture of Argentine Tango.

An international cast of world-class dancers, musicians, and singers will come together in Brussels for this performance, joined by the Brussels Tango Performance Group.

This performance is an exclusive preview of a forthcoming three-act work, created by Astria Apel, featuring original arrangements and compositions by Melody Quinteros and Nicolás Maceratesi, with choreography by Astria Apel and Mariano Galeano.

Argentine Tango and Modern Dance join forces to convey this turbulent story, based on many of the most famous tango lyrics written by José María Contursi.

The performance will be preceded by a Milonga in the theater’s foyer at 6:00 PM, inviting the audience to dance themselves or just enjoy a drink at the bar. Entrance for Milonga included in all ticket categories.

As the project is still in development, donations are appreciated and will go toward the completion of the full work.

« Gricel – Une histoire de tango » est une production innovante de théâtre musical qui retrace la véritable et emblématique histoire d’amour du poète de tango José María Contursi. Elle plonge le public dans l’univers doux-amer du désir inassouvi, profondément ancré dans la culture du tango argentin.

Une distribution internationale de danseurs, musiciens et chanteurs de renommée mondiale se réunira à Bruxelles pour cette représentation, en collaboration avec le Brussels Tango Performance Group.

Cette représentation constitue un aperçu d’une œuvre à venir en trois actes, créée par Astria Apel, avec des arrangements et des compositions originales de Melody Quinteros et Nicolás Maceratesi, et une chorégraphie signée Astria Apel et Mariano Galeano.

Le tango argentin et la danse contemporaine s’unissent pour donner corps à cette histoire tourmentée, inspirée de nombreuses paroles parmi les plus célèbres écrites par José María Contursi.

La représentation sera précédée d’une milonga dans le foyer du théâtre à 18 h, invitant le public à danser ou simplement à profiter d’un verre au bar.
L’accès à la milonga est inclus dans toutes les catégories de billets.

Le projet étant encore en cours de développement, les dons sont les bienvenus et contribueront à l’aboutissement de l’œuvre complète ainsi que les frais relatifs à cette production.
